After being postponed for two years due to the health emergency, the 7th edition of Argillà Italia, the International Ceramics Festival and Exhibition Market, will finally return. The market exhibition of international artistic and artisan ceramics will take place in the historical center of Faenza on 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2022 with its 250 stands, including ceramists and technical partners. There will be 250 stands with ceramists and technical partners from all over Europe, with some participation from Honduras, Korea, and Argentina.

The membership of the approximately two hundred selected ceramists from all over Europe is confirmed, with also some non-European presences from Honduras, Korea and Argentina.

As already announced, the guest country for this edition will be Ireland, to which the main exhibition of the official side events will be dedicated. This is a special project entitled ‘Land/Marks’, curated by Elaine Riordan and Tina Byrne, organized in collaboration with Ceramic Ireland and the Irish Craft and Design Council, which testifies the story of contemporary Irish ceramic art through 41 protagonists.

2 Argillà 2018

Argillà returns to Faenza with its internationality and liveliness – says Claudia Casali, MIC director –. The many participations represent the desire to return to celebrate ceramics in presence. We are finalizing the last agreements for the events that will be, as always, many and varied throughout our city, which is always open and welcoming“. The calendar of official events is taking shape and at the moment, has already defined many exhibitions both of single artists and collectives from Argentina, Norway, Korea, Poland and India. There will be the Mondial Tornianti (world potter’s wheel championship), spectacular ceramic firings in open kilns, demonstrations, workshops, and activities for children.
Many international delegations are showing their interest in participating.

As in previous editions, Argillà Italia will include in its program of collateral events, exhibitions, initiatives, and projects linked to ceramics, organized in the city of Faenza in a spontaneous manner, communicating them through its website and paper tools.

Any organising body, private individual or association has until 30 May to fill in its application with the proposal, which must be sent exclusively through the Argillà-Italia website.

Argillà is organised by MIC Faenza in collaboration with the Municipality of Faenza, AiCC and Ente Ceramica.
