Satisfaction and interest for the more than 80 label printers who visited the first company show room of Lombardi to follow the work of two innovations in printing and hybrid finishing of labels.

For three days the luminous premises of Lombardi Converting Machinery  in Brescia (Northern Italy) have hosted label printers coming from different regions of Italy and not only, to witness live all the potential of digital finishing and flexo hybrid printing.

After the partnership with Domino, Lombardi launched the digital flexo hybrid solution at Labelexpo 2017: the digital UV inkjet printing system with Domino Digistar Inkjet, comprising two heads for white followed by four-color process, extendable to heptachrome. Digistar is followed by the online Lombardi finishing units: a semi-rotary UV flexo for full-board paint or a Pantone colour, and a cold foil group, that can be positioned by rail in any position among the groups. Its modular configuration can be modified according to the specific needs of each customer.

With 350 mm band width, Digistar Inkjet works with an unwinder at 700 meters per minute. All visitors appreciated the quality of the work done during the three days.

Synchroline 430 flexo printer

Synchroline

Another attraction of the three days was the flagship of Lombardi, the Synchroline, defined by customers as the ‘universal machine’ thanks to its flexibility and ‘smart’ electronics.

Cheching the accurate register varnishing

The Synchroline 430 full servo automatic flexo has been shown in a particular configuration: 8 UV flexo units, followed by Bravo, the inline flat screen unit, patent of Lombardi, here used to add a thickened varnishing at register, and an inline Toro unit for hot foil, equipped with the special ‘foil saver’ system to reduce the consumption of the foil. This solution was very much appreciated also as an ideal module for embossed applications.

Bravo and Toro are the two ennobling modules developed by Lombardi, that had already found considerable success and international interest at the Labelexpo in Brussels in September 2017.

The register and print quality controls have been entrusted to the new Grafikontrol LYNEX-Y system equipped with a linear camera for a 100% inspection on the entire width of the strip and print format.

With this showroom, which was the first of a series, the many Italian label printers who attended had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the technologies developed by Lombardi Converting Machinery during their 30 years of activity.
